Question #1:

Ladies, would you allow a female health guru to move into your home?

Let's say you are overweight and very unhappy. Your bf/husband develops a plan. He hires a lady friend who is also a health guru and she is attactive. She just wants to whip you back to shape because she knows a lot about excercises, diets, fitness, and health food. So, me(health guru), you(the wife), and husband would be living under the same roof for months. Would you have a problem with it?

One thing to point out, me and the husband are PLANTONIC friends, so there would be no inappropriate sexual behavior. We just want to help you lose 200/300 pounds. We care about your health.
While you are at work, me and husband will go to the food market to get healthy food for you to eat and discuss your diet.

Question #2:

Should I start ballet classes at 18?

I have been very interested in ballet recently. I was wondering if I should start ballet classes and what that would entail, or should I just not bother at all? I am a little old to be starting ballet. What would I need if I were to start?

I'm also on a health kick right now and I was wondering if ballet would be a good addition to a fitness regimen. I have a Fluidity bar in my house that kind of looks like a ballerina bar. Would I be able to use that and just look up ballet stuff on the internet and practice at my house?

sometimes when i run on my treadmill i get a urge to urinate when i emptied my bladder before working out, i dont really drink alot of water before and during my workout.

when i get these urges, its not strong at all, it doesnt burn, ect, but i get it enough to not workout hard enough or to just stop in the middle of my workout completely. :(
never gotten pregnant before

Question #5:

As a parent: would you regard this as an assault on your child?

PE is administered in very mercenary ways now-a days, with children being pushed (at our local school) to such an extent that when the children stop through exhaustion- they are shouted at, It is my belief that this will put them off exercise later on in life but the PE staff have now gone further and not only humiliate young girls but also cause them pain and have caused my own daughter to have a day off school through injury. At forest town primary school in mansfield: My nine yr old daughter was forced to take position on all fours (on her knees) alongside another young girl- so that what can be described in my childs words as a 'fat boy' - could mount their backs with a knee in each childs shoulder blades - apparently riding the girls in a chariot style position. my daughter was complaining of back ache and shoulder pain all night and still had it in the morning and consequently missed school the next day. I don't have ineraction with the other childs parents so do not know how she felt- I assume humiliated and in similar pain.
I understand that fun has to be part of exercise in order to create enthusiasm but there are clear lines of 'care' that schools must be obligated to- and health and safety has to come into this equation in my humble opinion. What do YOU think and do you feel that the way PE is administered via youngsters taking courses in fitness is not all it should be: surely when teachers themselves taught PE- they were in a better position because they had done the required level of tuition themselves- to understand a childs needs and these wanna be's that aren't at any level to understand children or the necessities of giving a future enthusiasm toward exercise- need to begin with adults who can give them feedback instead of young children who are scared stiff to make comment? How can you give a responsible job to 'kids' that have no respect for primary school children in proper relevance?
Do you consider that a nine yr old girl might feel humiliated- which is in itself assault or that having back and shoulder pain constitutes assault when young people are only trained in sports and not in the needs of children?
WHO would you hold responsible- would it be those doing the PE lesson or the headmaster who employs them?
It's really wierd that the headmaster at our school is a gynmnast who puts his experience to one side so that he can command the roost instead of showing empathy for childrens requirements in physical eduaction- i.e. he employs what i consider 'incompetents' to do a job he's quite capable of doing himself. What happened to fun for children of this age- when can we have thought behind how eduaction is administered?
This is not just about our problems- I intend this as a question that will extract true experienced opinion from you all and hope you can all go in depth with your statements- I want to show your answers to the relevent authorities- no matter what your opinion- as long as it is relevent to my questions- i.e please don't give yes or no answers.
Thank you all for the time to approach this question properly.
Thank you Ray: your English may not be accurate all the time but today you have given me a decent answer in terms I can understand- sometimes my own english lacks the academic necessities and i do ramble- anyway- THANKYOU!
First two answers were good and what i wanted- do any of you feel it is ok to humiliate girls in this way and do you feel a little shoulder ache and back pain is ok if the people teling them its fine are qualified PE instructors (but have not the same education as a normal teacher- so in effect can't really empathise with a child?

Question #6:

Fitness, proteins, weight lifting, gym?

Hello! I am 17 years old, 5'11", 197lbs. I work out daily either cardio or weights. I am pretty big for my age (muscular). Anyway I have been working out for almost a year so far and gained 25lbs. However spoke with my Health Ed teacher about additional proteins, he told me to go to GNC and ask the guys there, however they have such a heavy Indian accent that I could not understand a single word they said! So basically, I need to gain more weight, muscles and stamina since I am leaving to USMC bootcamp in a year. Answers by nutricional experts will be greatly appreciated! But also please let me know if you know ANYTHING about this particular topic! Thank you

Question #7:

how thorough are military (usa) secret clearances?

85 on asvab, 3.7 highschool gpa, tested at same level as a phd in english literature, no criminal history, good physical fitness.

here is the bad stuff; grew up in foster care, and group homes because my family was "unfit" to take care of me. part of being in group homes is having to see a psychiatrist, if they think you dont like them, they throw you on medication for every mental illness in the book.they even go as far as sending you to psychiatric hospitals if you piss them off, which is a very annoying, time consuming, and makes people assume the worst.CPS worker was sleeping with my abusive father, so you can bet my court papers were full of lies, such as me(10yrs old, 60lbs) overpowering my 160lbs stepmother, and two half brothers not even a year old, and locking them into a closet. only one half brother had even been born, other wasnt concieved for another year. lots of lies such as that.

my question is; how thorough is the secret clearance? my MOS of choice requires one, and i will be honest as possible with my recruiter. i know already that the falsified court documents and "mental health records" will be a permanent DQ, even if they are lies. i want this as a career, and that bullshit from my youth will mess it up.

main thing i want to know is if they will find the medical stuff, the lies, and the cps issues. and if they do, how will i get around it? i dont expect special treatment, and to be favored. but i do want a chance, not to have it stolen from me out of spite. honest, thorough answers would be much appreciated, from either former/current enlisted, officers, recruiters, and knowledgeable individuals. in the process of talking to a recruiter, have not gotten into major detail as of yet. and yes, i know my spelling, grammar, and punctuation may be poor in this. thanks for your time.

Why are the hands, feet and sometimes face of my big, fat spouse often red to purple?

Spouse, 60, is on blood pressure meds and is actively thinning thanks to calorie counting and a solid fitness regimen. However, there is some reluctance to take up the matter of purple and usually extremely cold extremities, which concern me hugely. Question #12:

Why do we have to learn english and math in college?

Hey guys this just hit me this semester why do we have to learn english and math in college? I'm a health, exercise, and fitness studies major and I don't see why. Now you may be thinking "oh he's failing the classes so he's mad" Thats not it at all. English is my forte and even though I'm not great at algebra I still got a High C right now. But why do we have to take them? In High School I took Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, and Financial Math and For English I took 1-4 and I passed all of them? I do not speak in ebonics, I write essays, letters, and anything of importance well, when I'm needed to. I went to visit my teachers from High School to see how they were doing and told them about my classes and they even told me "yea once you get in the real world you only really need arithmetic that other stuff you will not use". This semester I'm taking Algebra, English 112, Psychology and Computer Technology Most of those classes are required but not relevant to my degree (except psychology). Why do I have re-learn about random Books and Poems and X+Y=0 stuff, I'm not going to put use to it in my career as a Personal Trainer and Health expert so why are they requirements. Its just frustrating that I could be learning more so i could help people with their health and I have to do these classes. they seem like a waste of time :/

Question #13:

Good ways to lower sodium intake?

I just found out that I have high blood pressure. Not super high, just high for someone of my health/fitness level. A friend of mine told me that decreasing my sodium intake would help lower my blood pressure without medication. I already have a relatively healthy diet and I exercise regularly.

I don't even know where to begin. I have always tracked my intake of macronutrients but I never even thought about sodium because it seemed unlikely to me that someone like me would have high blood pressure. I realize this is hard to answer without knowing my diet, but what are the main culprits? What do I need to cut to lower my blood pressure?

Question #15:

is being a health nut and fitness freak a turnoff?

Question #16:

Is it illegal for dogs to walk around freely into fitness centers or health clubs meant for humans?

I went to a parkour fitness place and saw a dog walking around through all the people who were working out and it seemed really unhealthy. It wasn't a helper dog, it was just the owner's dog walking around, jumping on the equipment that people would be using and working out as if it were a person. The place is just meant for human use though. Is that not illegal?

Question #17:

What electives should I take junior year of high school?

For college, I want to do something in the medical field, with children, or with animals.

Freshman: English, Earth and Space Science, African Asian Studies, French 3, Algebra 1, Phys. Ed and Health, Digital Photography
Sophomore: English, Biology, Western Civ, French 4, Geometry, Phys. Ed and Health, Child Dev, Drivers Ed
Junior (What I Plan): English, Chemisty, US History, Honors Seminar French, Algebra 2, and Fitness
I might take Publications (school newspaper and yearbook), Intro To Foods, Adult Roles and Relationships, Photography 1, Drawing, Jewelry, or Public Speaking (I can choose 3 of these classes)
I am not really good at art, drawing, or speaking in front of crowds though. But I would like to take an art class in high school. I don't know if public speaking would be a good class to take before graduatuon.
Senior: I will probably double up on science and try to get into Honors Alllied Health or Honors Teacher Academy

For my graduation project I plan on volunteering in an animal shelter or volunteering at a children's camp.

Question #18:

Is a personal trainer worth it for PCOS weight loss?

Hi last august I had been diagnosed with an suspected case of PCOS simply because my ultrasound showed no cysts and my blood test results were normal but I've gained A LOT of weight during the last 2 years, have horrible acne & a bit of excess hair :-( I hate it as I'm not use to having that. Anyway I lost a stone with the use of Metforim and to be honest not exercising or changing my eating habits much as PCOS has turned me into a junk food binger! So I have a treadmill, cross trainer/bike, rower & weights at home in addition to workout dvds, should I spend on a personal trainer just for the next four weeks £400 (5 days of 1hr lessons a week) at my local gym or put that money towards paying off my holiday in august? As I think I need the motivation to get me started.

My brother who is a fitness freak keeps telling me to work out with him but I don't know if I'd take it serious or just burst out laughing constantly, I really need to lose weight for august and overall health so am changing my eating habits & include exercise 3-5 times a week
